Day 01 : Fly to Nepalgunj in the afternoon. Explore the market area in the evening.

Today we take our early flight from TIA to Nepalgunj. It is about an hour flight to Nepalgunj, situated at the far western part of Nepal. It is a city which is near to the border of Nepal and India is also the door to Simikot, Humla.

Day 02 : Early morning scenic Himalayan flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot (2,985m) and then trek to Darapori (2,360m)

After early breakfast, we fly to Simikot from Nepalgunj. Complete Nepal immigration formalities before continuing our helicopter flight to Hilsa. Drive to Chinese Border from Hilsa and we continue our drive to Purang. On arrival at Purang, check-in at Hotel.

Day 03 : Trek to Kermi - (2690m) 5 hrs

After breakfast, we start our trek for Kermi. We walk today for about four to five hours. Normally, we make a lunch camp at Kermi. We suggest you carry some dry food always with you & do not walk far from your group because it is a cliffy trail and on the way, we sometimes meet domestic animals which can push you into the Karnali. Today we encounter a beautiful waterfall & we do follow the Karnali River. It is an amazing scenery of the trip. 

Day 04 : Trek to Yalbang Monastery/School - (2890m) 6 hrs 

Today’ trek is a flat and steep ascent until reaching a small pass and crossing a suspension bridge over the Salli River. From here one can enjoy views of the beautiful pine trees and the mighty Karnali River. We will also visit the remote Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery. Overnight in Yalbang.

Day 05 : Trek to Tumkot (3,073m)

This day, no more trees to protect from the sun. Be careful with crossing animals while encountering with them because the trail is cliff & just down running Karnali. We will come across scenic villages, as usual, villages like Anger, Muchu. Muchu is one of the biggest villages of our trip trail. Normally people reach the campsite a little early which allows washing dirty stuff & taking bath into the river.

Day 06 : Trek from Tumkot to Yari

After breakfast, we start today's trek which is comparatively easy trail above the Karnali River. After hiking a few miles we begin to notice the change in climate, vegetation and scene which becomes more barren, rocky and isolated. Overnight in Yari under tented camp.

Day 07 : Trek from Yari to Hilsa

We then cross the first pass of the trek today, the Nara La pass (4,620m). The vegetation is miserable by now and the landscape is acquainted to that of Tibet. Upon crossing the pass, we will be received by excellent views of the beautiful Tibetan plateau and Yari Village. From here, it is a difficult descent down until Hilsa, a border town which is also a dropping point for the pilgrims on their way to Mt. Kailash by helicopter. Overnight at guest house in Hilsa.

Day 08 : Trek from Hilsa to Purang

After breakfast at Hilsa, we trek across the Friendship Bridge at Hilsa where the Tibetan authorities will check our permits, visa and passports. We also meet our Tibet guide over here.  After finishing official tasks we ascend from Hilsa to Purang and pass Rinzin Zangpo Gompa and Kangje Village along the way. In Purang, we visit the ancient Purang monastery and explore the unique Buddhist frescoes of 8th century. Overnight at guest house in Purang.

Day 09 : Purang to Monster (4,450m) and sightseeing in Tirthapuri

On our way to Monster, we pass through Rakshas and Mansarover lakes. After reaching Monster we settle down for a while then visit Tirtapuri (4510m). Located northwest of Mount Kailash, the Tirthapuri Hot Springs are closely associated with Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche). Pilgrims bathe in pools fed by the springs, visit the monastery containing the guru's footprint and dig for healing stones along a one-hour pilgrimage route. After touring Tirtapuri we return back to Monster to spend the night.

Day 10 : Sightseeing of Garuda Valley, then transfer to Darchen (4,560m)

It takes us around 2 hours to reach the Garuda Valley that lies to the southwest of Mt Kailash. It contains mysterious caves, some of which have never been explored. Many believe that this was the cradle of the Tibetan civilization during the time of the Shang Shung kings, long before Buddhism reached the roof of the world. For those interested in the archeological and historical sites, Garuda Valley will be a dream come true. 

Day 11 : Trek to Derapuk monastery

Today, we begin our Kora of Mount Kailash, the day starts with trekking from the Sershong and a steady walk with many other local pilgrims chanting and praying. We can see the Chuku Monastery up on the hillside from the valley. Then the trail leads to few ups and downs till we reach our camp at Derapuk where we will see many more Bon pilgrims circumambulating in the opposite direction (Anti clock-wise). Overnight at mud house or fixed tent accommodation.

Day 12 : Trek via Drolma-La pass 5944m then down to Zuthulpuk Monastery

Today our trek leads to much higher altitude of the holy path just beneath the Mount Kailash. The hiking will bring us to one of the highest point at Drolma La Pass, and the pass is quickly descends to the gradual field towards Zuthulpuk monastery. In Tibetan it means magical cave. This small monastery is connected to an interesting story of talent competition between Great Yogi Milarepa (Buddhist) and Naropa (Bon). Rest of the night we will spend here. Overnight at mud house or fixed tent accommodation.  

Day 13 : Zuthulpuk to Darchen to Manasarovar

Third Day of Mt. Kailash Kora: Trek for about 3 hrs. and drive to Manasarovar (4582m)Today we trek for 3 hours, gradually moving out of the valley towards Barka plain and complete our holy kora of Mount Kailash at Darchen. Next, we take a 40 minutes drive to Mansarovar Lake, the sacred lake which holds the religious significance for both Buddhists and Hindus and considered the greatest pilgrim journey. The lake is purer than sapphire and one can see through dozens of meters into the lake. Overnight camp at Manasarovar near Chiu Monastery on full board meals.

Day 14 : Drive from Mansarovar to Saga

Today, we will accomplish a long drive from Mansarovar Lake to Saga traversing through the sacred historic Chiu Monastery. We continue driving past Hor Quo and across the Mayum La pass (5,200m). While passing through, we will have glimpses of small towns like Dongba and Paryang. This journey covers 270 km from Mansarovar to Paryang and connects Saga, 255 km away from Paryang. From Saga instead of going towards Lhasa, we drive along a different route to Kathmandu. Overnight at guest house in Saga.

Day 15 : Drive Saga to Kerung City

At our return, we will have a scenic drive to a town called keyrong for overnight stay.

Day 16 : Kerung to Kathandu

After Finish all the necessary formalities in Immigration, Drive to the Kathmandu.
