The final day of trek from phajoding to punakha descends downhill through blue pine forest and camp overnight at punakha.In the early morning you are driven to the capital of Bhutan, Thimpu by the representatives of expert tours. Day 01 :Arrive Paro International Airport

During the journey, one will experience breath taking view of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayan peaks, including the sacred Chomolhari and Mount Jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by representatives of Expert Tibet Tours. who will escort you to the Hotel in Paro.

Day 02 : Paro - Sightseeing

Drive the winding road northwest up the Pa-Chu to Drukgyel Dzong, the ruined Fortress which once defended this valley from Tibetan invasion. This Dzong was built in the 17th century by Shabdrung Nawang Namgyel, the spiritual leader of Bhutan.

On a clear day one can view Mt. Jumolhari the sacred Mountain. On the way back we visit one of the Typical Bhutanese farm house. After lunch at the hotel, we drive to Ta-Dzong which was once the watch tower for Paro valley, now it houses the National Museum and then walk down hill pass the Paro Dzong and crossing the typical traditional roofed bridge to Paro town.

Day 03 :Paro - Jele Dzong

Start of Trek Day 1 : Distance 10 Kms and walking time 4-5 hours. Starting at Dopshare (2300m) and camp at Jele Dzong(3450m). The trek trail is rather gradual climb till the camp and if the weather is clear the Paro valley can be seen with the Mt. Jumolhari(7314m) and snowcapped mountains behind the valley.

Day 04 :Jele Dzong - Jangchulakhag

Trek Day 2: Distance 10 Kms and walking time 3-4 hrs. Starting at Jele Dzong (3450mtrs) and camp at Jangulakha (3780mtrs). The trail takes you through thick alpine forest and rhododendrons trees and most of the walking is up and down on a ridge. Mt. Jumolhari would also be visible on this day. We will likely encounter yak herders camped in their usual black woven yak hair tents.

Day 05 : Jangchulakha - Jimilangtso

Trek Day 3 : Distance 11 Kms and walking time 4-5 hrs. Starting at Jangchulakha (3780mtrs) and camp at Jimilangtsho(3880mtrs). The trail follows the ridge and on clear day the views of the mountains and valley are beautiful, in particular the Jichu Drake (6989m). Camp is close to lake of Jimilangtso. These lakes are known for their giant sized trout.

Day 06 : Jimilangtso – Simikot

The trail takes you through dwarf rhododendron trees and bypasses the lake of Janetsho. You may come across some yak herder’s camp and get an idea how these people live. Trail winds and undulates with magnificent view of the Himalaya across deep valleys. Simkotatsho Lake (4,110m) can be seen below after crossing one final spur. We continue our trek until we reach the yak pasture where we camp for tonight.

Day 07 : Simikot – Phajoding

The day begins with a gradual climb. If the weather permits, you will have a spectacular view of Mount Gangkar Puensum, the highest mountain in Bhutan and several other Himalayan peaks. From this pass, the trek takes you downhill towards Phajodhing where you will halt for the night. The camp is located just above Phadjoding Monastery.

Day 08 :Phojoding - Punakha

Trek Day 6 - End of Trek : Distance 4-5 Kms and walking time 3 hrs. Starting at Phajoding (3870m) and end of trek at Punakha (2300m) The trek to Punkha is all the way down hill through a forested area of mostly Blue pine On /N at Punakha.

Day 09 : Punakha to Thimphu

Early Morning Drive to Thimphu and O/ N at Thimphu.

Day 10 : Thimphu Sightseeing – Paro

Full day sightseeing in Thimphu. Visit Memorial Chorten, Zilukha Nunnery, Takin Sanctuary, Indigenous Hospital, Textile Museum, and Heritage Museum, Traditional School of arts & crafts and Tashicho Dzong. Upon available time, you will also visit Zangdopelri temple, paper factory and other sights and Drive to Paro.

Day 11 :Departure from Paro

Our Tour guide will drop you in Airport and you can departure either in Nepal or your own Destination from Paro.
